Dr. Kirill Bolotin

Kirill Bolotin is currently an Assistant Professor of both Physics and Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.

He has a PhD in Experimental Physics from Cornell and an M.S. in Theoretical Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Before Vanderbilt, Dr. Bolotin was with Freie Universit├Ąt Berlin, Germany, and led the EU-funded Strained2DMaterials project to uncover what happens to 2D materials under strain.

While there, he researched how bending and stretching 2D materials to change their properties could lead to ultra-small sensors that can help us understand how gravity works at the microscopic scale.
