Kirill Bolotin is currently an Assistant Professor of both Physics and Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
He has a PhD in Experimental Physics from Cornell and an M.S. in Theoretical Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Before Vanderbilt, Dr. Bolotin was with Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, and led the EU-funded Strained2DMaterials project to uncover what happens to 2D materials under strain.
While there, he researched how bending and stretching 2D materials to change their properties could lead to ultra-small sensors that can help us understand how gravity works at the microscopic scale.
